Backyard Bee Keeping Workshop
**** Please note the change of date of this event – it is now the 30th April ****
This is a free event sponsored by Landcare and Local Land Services (Hunter). The workshop will be conducted by our colleague Dorothea and David who have many years experience in beekeeping. David actually used to breed queen bees for other apiarists (that’s bee keepers to you and me). This is a chance to hear and experience bee keeping from real experts right here in Tanilba Bay rather than picking up bits of information from books or the internet. The workshop starts at Tilligerry Habitat
The event includes:
- Hunter Apiarists Association will talk on native bee keeping
- Talk on honey bees and native bees in a backyard environment
- Field trip to inspect bee hives and extracting equipment
- Protective clothing will be supplied
- Morning tea / coffee
- Light Lunch
Book now as there are only 20 places available
