Field Day: The First Landcarers
On Saturday 11th June a group of us were privileged to be part of the First Landcarers Field Day at Murrook Cultural Centre.
The day commenced with members of the Worimi Green Team talking about how the group was founded and developed.
Growing from members with a lot of enthusiasm and drive, and precious little else it seemed, and that included tools! …. to a group that is highly regarded in the field of landcare, with many large and complex projects under their belt.
In the afternoon after a delicious lunch, the group were taken to a special place in the Worimi Conservation Lands and were moved, informed, influenced and indeed provoked by a wonderful talk about Worimi culture, country, people and language and our relationship to them as immigrants.
On behalf of all the participants I thank all those that worked really hard to make this a marvellous day
